Stat-X First Responder® Aerosol Fire Suppression Tool (FST)

The Stat-X First Responder® is an emergency-use, condensed aerosol fire suppression tool (FST) that should always be a component of your on-hand emergency response equipment. The Stat-X First Responder excels at containing and suppressing small early-stage fires in enclosed spaces before the fire becomes unmanageable and requires a full fire department response. When fire departments fight fire with water from hose streams, there is always a corresponding increase in damage and downtime.

The Stat-X First Responder is a small, light, handheld device activated by a pull actuator. It is designed to be hand tossed into an enclosed space where there is an active fire. Three and a half seconds after the pin is pulled, the Stat-X First Responder activates, filling the space with Stat-X condensed aerosol agent, immediately suppressing the fire.

When used by firefighters, the Stat-X First Responder buys time while hoselines are being deployed, can stop a flashover, and it can provide an emergency egress route when firefighters need a path through a wall of flames. It is also highly useful for police or other first responders who arrive at a fire scene ahead of the fire department. When deployed, the Stat-X First Responder can slow down the fire long enough to allow the fire department to arrive. The Stat-X First Responder is also a valuable tool for police tactical units making entry on barricaded suspects and meth labs.

Further, the First Responder can be particularly beneficial for energy and utility employees. If a fire occurs in an underground vault, the Stat-X First Responder can be tossed down into the vault through the manhole opening. This is far and away a safer option than entering the highly dangerous, burning, underground environment to directly attack the fire with a hand portable fire extinguisher. What's more, if personnel are underground when the fire erupts, the First Responder tossed in from above can buy them time to exit the space and is not harmful in any way to the trapped personnel. When used by firefighters, it buys time for hose set-up, stops flashover, and it can provide an emergency egress route through a wall of flames. Used by police or the first responder on the scene, it can slow a fire long enough to allow fire departments to arrive.
